by Alexi Zentner, St. Louis Magazine, St. Louis, MO - Take away the menu and the bottles of soy sauce on every table, and this could be any hip new eatery-just as easily seating your grandparents as a group of uber-cool twenty-somethings. But with the menu, you have something pretty special: smart, fresh, quick Japanese food at a fairly reasonable price. Dan Burns, who owns SanSai Japanese Grill (a local boy, he has four other locations in Southern California) has done a great job of bringing sushi and teriyaki grills to the masses without dumbing down the menu to food court levels. My only complaint is that there isn’t a SanSai closer to my house. Given how busy the Webster Groves location was on a Wednesday night, I might not wait too long for that next location.
